To start off the week, I have an important announcement. The iconic skatepark in London’s Southback Centre is going to be destroyed for the sake of yet another commercial shopping complex. (yes, this is the skatepark from the Sherlock episode, ‘The Blind Banker.’) This is the heart of London skate culture so please spread the word and save the Southbank skatepark by signing this petition at Change.org to protect the history, the legacy and the future of skateboarders and skateculture.

Matthias Haker is a self-taught photographer currently based in Dresden, Germany. This set of photography feautures abandoned buildings from all around the world with their locations unknown to us. Haker goes to great lengths to photograph the abandoned buildings taking great care not to ruin or damage anything further. In something so broken, Matthias Haker is able to bring a certain beauty through his photographs in the moment the picture is taken to be retained forever.
